Private Workshop: Introduction to Handweaving
Learn to weave on a traditional hand loom using the equipment, tools, materials and processes necessary to create handwoven textiles in our one-to-one, Private Introduction to Handweaving workshop.
In this intermediate handweaving workshop students will further their knowledge of handwoven textiles. From planning a warp to designing and weaving their handwoven sample, this workshop is designed to ensure students understand the steps involved with designing and dressing their own loom and experimenting with basic weaving techniques in a private setting.
In this full day workshop, students will progress from winding the warp, dressing the loom, threading the heddles, reeding and tying on the warp to understanding the warp set up, following patterns and weaving with a variety of materials. You will carry out each of these steps with our guidance and be given notes to take home. Whatever fabric is woven is yours to keep.
Please note: It is a requirement that students complete the Level 1: Introduction to Handweaving Workshop, as you will need this knowledge to set up your loom more independently.
