1. The Rainbow Loom
Our Rainbow Looms are the newest addition to our Frame Loom collection. Designed by Cassandra Smith of Cassandra Sabo Designs specifically in response to Covid-19, these acrylic looms have the same clever design as our Beech Frame Looms so they can be set up in seconds, but are washable, making them the perfect loom to work with and share within your household.
Our looms have a unique design, with different spacing than commercial looms so that the warp can be set wider apart for beginners and closer together for more experienced weavers. This different spacing, also known as the 'Sett', is a feature unique to our loom design as it was designed with hand-weaving in mind. Even our Rainbow Looms can act as a stepping stone to weaving on a hand loom or floor loom by offering users the opportunity to progress from beginner tapestry techniques to classic hand-weaving techniques as they build in skill and confidence.
2. The Weaving Tools
Each weaving tool set has been carefully designed to work with the dimensions and spacing of our frame looms. They are wonderful to handle, easy to use, frictionless, long–lasting and kind on the environment.
We have even designed each tool with a circular opening so you can store your tools neatly for safe-keeping using the handy clasp-ring that is included with the tool set.
For the Rainbow Weaving Kit we have kept the tools to a minimum as their smaller size warrants the use of only a few special tools!
Weaving Comb: Use this tool to push down your weft yarn into place (6.5cm x 5.5cm).
Needle: Use this tool to attach the end of your weft yarn and pull this across your warp to create each row of weaving (small 15.5cm x 1.2cm).
3. The Yarn Starter Pack:
The yarns from our Yarn Starter Packs are sourced from larger suppliers, indie dyers and our own bespoke range of hand dyed yarns and colour blends. They are lovingly wound by hand into useful tapestry weaving bundles for you to work with and you won't find this combination anywhere else!
The Yarn Starter Packs now come in 9 different colour combinations! They contain 3 coloured samples of wool roving, 5 different qualities of wool and cotton and a skein of cotton warp thread. With 2 sizes available to choose from to accompany your pack, you're in control of how much weaving you want to get done!
4. Introduction to Weaving PDF download:
Included in your weaving kit is our Introduction to Weaving PDF download. This introductory manual is the perfect companion to start you on your weaving journey. It is the culmination of over 10 years experience of weaving and teaching and includes the best techniques, tips and tricks for beginner weavers.
Once you purchase your weaving kit you will receive a link with a passcode to download your Introduction to Weaving PDF.
