An Evolution for The Oxford Weaving Studio ✨

An Evolution for The Oxford Weaving Studio ✨

This autumn marks the beginning of a new chapter for The Oxford Weaving Studio. After many years in Jericho, I’ll be relocating to a smaller studio at my home in East Oxford. It will be a generous converted space, around half the size of my current studio, and it feels like the right step for both me and the future of my work.

This decision has been a thoughtful one. Over the years, the studio has grown in many directions — workshops, yarns, kits, looms, events, and more. It has been such a joy to welcome so many of you to weave, learn, and connect in the space. But as time has gone on, I’ve realised that running a larger studio leaves little room for the two things that inspired me to begin all this in the first place: teaching weaving in a more focused way and giving myself space to design and experiment with my own practice.

By moving to a smaller studio, I can simplify, slow down, and create more balance. It also allows me to focus on what I do best: teaching, especially with The Oxford Frame Loom, sharing resources and ideas to support your weaving journey, and continuing to explore new textile directions within my own work.

So what will change?

This won’t be an overnight change. I’ll be moving out of my Jericho studio by December 1st, and between now and then I’ll be focusing on selling as much stock as possible and wrapping up this chapter of the studio. After that, there will be a slower transition through the winter as I prepare my new East Oxford space and take a short pause in workshops. By early Spring 2026, I expect to be more settled and ready to share what the “new normal” will look like — with a refreshed range of yarns and looms, more focused tuition, and new workshops in external venues.

I know many of you will have questions about what this means for your weaving journey. If you have a voucher or want to attend a workshop, there are still opportunities — but I’d encourage you to use your vouchers now and book into my current workshops if you can, as I can’t confirm when future dates will be just yet. And if you’ve been waiting to pick up yarns or tools, now is the time, as many will not be returning once they’re gone.

This is not a closing, but an evolution. I’m so grateful for the community that has grown around The Oxford Weaving Studio, and I’m excited to see how this next stage allows me to support you — and my own practice — in fresh and inspiring ways.

Thank you, as always, for being part of this journey with me.

    Happy Weaving!

    Cassandra
