Our 4-Ply of Mercerised Cotton yarn has been a staple of our Weaving Yarn Starter Packs for years. We love them because they are a great yarn for weaving different types of projects, from wall-hangings and bookmarks to placemats and scarves, these yarns are a great staple for your next project.
Based on our 2/16s Mercerised Cotton, these versatile yarns will work well in both the warp and weft for frame looms as well as for hand and table looms. This 100% extra long staple, combed mercerised Egyptian cotton yarn is OEKO certified, so it will weave with a wonderfully soft and smooth handle.
This plied yarn is a strong yarn with a glossy finish and currently available in 4 classic, neutral colours. They have been wound into either cakes or skeins, offering flexibility to un-wind your yarns or keep them in skeins for dyeing.
This yarn is also practical for many applications beyond weaving. It could be used as a thicker sewing thread or couching, blended or plied together with other fibres to create thicker yarn for tapestries, is excellent in spinning when plied with other yarns to create gorgeous art yarns and the lighter shades dye beautifully.
