Contemporary Colour Palettes

We have added 4 new colour combinations to our popular Yarn Starter Packs! Featuring 4 of our own unique blends of wool roving only found here at The Oxford Weaving Studio, along with our most popular weaving yarns, these new packs all have a more natural colour palette inspired by the natural world. Welcome Normandy, Forest, Heavenly and West Coast.

We have also been making changes to some of our existing packs as some yarns have become discontinued. These are being rolled out when current stock sells out. So please check out the small changes to our Macaroon, Sorbet, Mermaid and Forest packs.

Compostable Packaging

We have been upgrading our packaging and our medium & large Yarn Starter Packs now come in packaging that is kinder to the planet! So pop our new clear, compostable bags into your compost heap to do your bit. =)

Easier to handle yarns and fibres

We have also updated our packs and wound them into the right tapestry bundle, skein or yarn ball/cake for each yarn. This will help make sure your yarns arrive in the best condition for when you are ready to weave and to show you how best to store your yarns when not in use. But this is most helpful to avoid tangling your yarns, making it easier and quicker for you to start your next weaving project!

Each pack contains:

3 x Coordinating colours of 23.4 micron Merino wool roving
2 x Super Chunky Merino wool
1 x Kilcarra Tweed wool
2 x Cotton Cord (1.5mm- Small, 3mm- Medium & 5mm- Large)
1 x Cotton 4-ply warp yarn

Pack Weights:

Small: 65g
Medium: 275g
Large: 550g

Each size Yarn Starter Pack was originally designed to work with each of our 3 different loom sizes. But now that The Oxford Frame Loom is fully adjustable you have complete flexibility to adapt your yarns to your project, no matter which size loom you have! But as a guide, you can complete 2-3 projects with each pack (small, medium or large).

Our yarns are sourced mainly from within the UK

All except one of our yarns are supplied by UK-based suppliers, many of whom we have been working with for years. We have also used these yarns extensively in our own work so can highly recommend these yarns as we have tried and tested them ourselves.

These packs are suitable for weaving, knitting, felting, spinning, macrame and other fibre-craft arts, so drop us an email if you have any questions about the fibres in these packs.
