The Oxford Frame Loom is the most practical weaving frame loom on the market. Designed for beginner and advanced weavers, this frame loom helps you to discover your weaving style by accessing the unique design features at each stage of your development as a weaver. From basic frame loom weaving to double-cloth hand-weaving, this frame loom has it all!

The most unique frame loom design on the market!

Our new frame loom design aims to bridge the gap between beginner and advanced weavers. Its unique design has features that enable beginner weavers to quickly and easily set up a warp, practice basic weaving techniques and develop their skill set by weaving on a smaller, portable frame loom. But once the student is ready to progress to more complicated weaving patterns, structures and projects (usually only possible on a table or floor loom), The Oxford Frame Loom comes into its own.

Weavers using The Oxford Frame Loom can weave longer projects, wider projects and double-sided projects. As their skills progress and they begin to experiment, weavers can create double-cloth fabric, add in extra warps to create variety for their designs and numerous other more advanced and experimental designs usually only possible on larger, more expensive and complex looms.

Designed by Cassandra Smith, a professional textile designer with a background in engineering and trained as a hand-weaver at Central Saint Martins, The Oxford Frame Loom is the culmination of her experiences as a weave student, a professional weaver working in the textile design industry, textiles educator and frequent traveller.

The Oxford Frame Loom was designed to help weavers to continue exploring their love of this craft by creating a versatile and adaptable loom without investing large sums of money on looms you may not want or need.

2. Double Sided Heddle Bars - The only Frame Loom with this Feature!
  • Weave 2 projects at the same time
  • Set the loom up to weave Double Cloth designs with the increased EPI
  • Weave designs with a mirror image using both sides of the loom to align more easily (think pouches, baskets and X-Mas stockings)
  • Add in a extra warp using the 2nd side of the Heddle bar or adding an extra Heddle Bar (purchased separately) for a finer cloth or warp variety
3. Adjustable Heddle Bars
  • Long channels to smoothly slide your Heddle Bar and adjust your warp tension
  • Adjust your Heddle Bar to the lowest position to weave smaller projects so as not to waste yarn
  • Remove top and/or bottom Heddle Bars and position to weave longer projects using clamps (think scarves, lampshades and plant pot holders)
  • Easily warp and wind a longer warp onto the Heddle Bar and re-attach to the frame for weaving
4. Extra Heddle Bar Available - The only Frame Loom with this Feature!
  • Add an extra Heddle Bar to tie in an extra warp of a different quality and adjust the tension separately from the main warp
  • Use the extra Heddle Bar in its lowest setting to maintain warp width for long projects and improve 'drawing in'
5. Extra Deep and Wide Warp Channels
  • Extra deep and wide warp channels enable weavers to use different and thicker yarns for the warp (not just a fine cotton!)
  • Deep and wide warp channels on both sides of the Heddle Bar make it possible to wind on a longer warp, maintaining tension to weave longer projects (think scarves and table runners).
  • Weave balanced cloth that features both warp and weft yarns

6. Versatile Spacing Options at 2, 4, 8 or 16 EPI  - The only frame loom with this variety of Sett!
  • Weave Tapestries using the 2 or 4 EPI settings to cover your warp with your weft yarn
  • Weave finer cloth when sett at 8 or 16 EPI and choose to feature either the warp or weft yarn
  • Weave test samples on your frame loom and save your project technical details to transfer and weave on a hand or floor loom later
  • Our loom sett works with common reed settings for table looms
7. Frame loom can be dis-assembled, transported and stored with ease
  • Dis-assemble the loom completely for easy storage and transportation
  • Handy clasp ring can be attached to the loom to store weaving tool set and wing nuts when not in use
  • Includes a small pouch to store wing nuts
  • Felt storage pouch included to protect the loom when being stored
8. Solid, Sustainable, Hardwood Design Constructed by local craftsmen Waywood Furniture
  • Premium quality construction by Simon @ Waywood Furniture
  • The Oxford Frame Loom features locally sourced solid Beech hardwood
  • Each piece of sustainable hardwood is chosen for its quality and strength
  • Hand sanded for a smooth finish
  • Natural Beech finish
9. A Uniquely Designed Frame Loom where details matter
  • The raised warp on the front face makes it easier to insert your weaving tools as it clears the side frames
  • Heddle Bars are reversible and can be flipped over on the reverse to raise the face of the woven project above the side frames for easier weaving when needed
  • Smooth wood surface avoids snagging yarns
  • Heddle bar design ensures they sit snugly in the channels on the side frames to maintain even warp tension and maintains a square shape when weaving
  • Easy to loosen and remove wing nuts when adjusting or re-positioning the Heddle Bars
  • A long channel helps to re-position the Heddle Bar for smaller projects or when adding a third Heddle bar

10. Travel and storage of your loom is a dream

  • The frame loom disassembles quickly and easily, making it easy to transport and take with you on holiday
  • The soft, felt storage pouch separates and protects each wooden bar or can be wrapped around a work in progress for travel
  • It can be stored in the sturdy storage tube for safe keeping, so that it doesn't get damaged and fits in most suitcases
  • Using a simple technique, it is possible to disassemble your loom with a warp or project still on the loom
  • Pop your warped loom or unfinished project into in your storage tube or wind it up into your protective felt storage pouch (coming soon) to work on it later
