Introducing our new Art Yarn Collection of hand spun yarns! These new Spiral yarns featuring Merino and Blue-Faced Leicester are perfect for adding colour and texture to your handwoven designs and will give you that warm and fuzzy feeling as they have been hand spun in our studio using our own 'waste' fibres.

What do we mean by that? Every time we weave a project for a client, host a workshop or create stock for our website, we inevitably collect lots of odd bits of yarns and fibres that are unsuitable for a complete project, but they are PERFECT for spinning!

The Spiral yarns in our Art Yarn Collection are a single of hand spun yarn plied in an irregular pattern with either cotton or wool to give them added strength.

Each skein is individual in character, but what all the yarns have in common is that they are all spun out of high quality merino & blue-faced Leicester wool, mohair and cotton. We believe in a sustainable, circular economy in our studio and these beautiful art yarns are a product of this mission.

We also have spun a variety of other high quality Art Yarns in fun colour combinations, so if you're looking for a slightly different colour texture, you may find those here:

The colours we have spun will also coordinate beautifully with our Yarn Starter Packs and the various Yarns & Fibres we carry in the studio, so you can incorporate these special yarns into your next project with ease!

These yarns will be available in different sizes, weights and prices as we work through our ever evolving collection of waste fibres in the studio. Pricing is based on the fibres used and the complexity of the spinning process.
